An Environmental Split-up

If the Republicans were as split as the environmentalists are over wind power for Cape Cod, there
would be predictions all over of the end of the Republican Party as we know it.

But because environmentalists are battling environmentalists instead of evil conservative
Republicans battling not-so-evil moderate Republicans, the only reaction is a little
harmless chuckling.
Introducing the whole sordid affair Jonah Goldberg
invites his readers
“to take a Nestea Plunge into the swirling waters of limousine liberalism.”

[S]ome environmentalists and a company called Cape Wind want to build 130
windmills way out in the ocean to help offset energy costs in the region — and to satisfy
all those demands that we find substitutes for evil fossil fuels.

Meanwhile, other environmentalists and conservationists are eager to stop the wind
farm from being built, largely because it will mar the view from their extravagant
coastal homes. Leading this charge is Sen. Ted Kennedy,
whose famous compound would have a nice view of the turbines.

All in all, it would take a heart of stone not to enjoy the Battle of the Liberal Wind Farm.
