Flying Geese formations, Yamato master-race theory, Yamato-Damashii, Shinto shrines, Japanese language, etc all became taboo. And excoriated their former imperfect benefactors.

Yes, the Japanese were brutal - even sadistic - but that is only when compared to Caucasian/white contemporary standards. By Asian contemporary standards, the Japanese were little different from the norm except they were far more successful and able to raise the standard of living.

And many Asians understood that.

They gladly embraced the Japanese as their liberators - they embraced pan-Asianism - for one overriding reason...

...it "proved" the racial superiority of Asians over Whites.

The Japanese had struck a blow for all Asians who had long been insecure in their racial inferiority; witnessing the evidence of it throughout their lives surrounding by White technology, clothing, social norms, movies, etc.

It was only to be expected that so many Asians from Shanghai to Saipan would only too happily side with the Japanese.

That is why the Japanese attacked the United States.

It had nothing to do with conquering the Dutch Indies - after all, you don't need to be a genius to realize that America wasn't going to attack Japan - and they knew it. The Japanese were conquering the East Indies and Southeast Asia knowing the Americans wouldn't respond. Germany had attacked Britain and the Dutch in Europe, where Roosevelt was focused. The Americans, of course, weren't going to attack the Japanese then, if they tried to conquer mere British and Dutch colonies in Asia. It was for this reason that Japan, by its own pronouncements, felt confident in attacking America believing it would not attack, let alone counter-attack if hit.

That's why Yamamomoto attacked Pearl Harbor, and published a victory lap afterwards in the Yomiuri, across Asia, and which was picked up around the World including the NY Times about "setting terms in Washington DC".

In starting a race-war, Japan gave outlet to vehement racial hatred for white people throughout Asia.

And therein lies the problem.

The visceral reason why so many Asians following WW2 (and many others) worked so desperately to abolish all memory of their triumphalism alongside the Japanese, just as non-Americans do when Americans refer to their triumphalism after 9/11.

If you start a race-war to prove the superiority of the pan-Asian race, it's all well and good as long as Asians win.

But what does it mean for racial superiority when the Yamato, the Asian Master Race at the head of the "Flying Geese Formation", is itself defeated and conquered in totality by a White Nation?Terrekainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03821435901500091375noreply@blogger.com
